M&S Bank’s home insurance policies are underwritten by Aviva Insurance Limited, one of the largest home insurers in the UK.

M&S Bank offers two types of home insurance cover, with both tiers offering policy options for buildings, contents, or combined buildings and contents insurance.
The basic level of home insurance cover from M&S. Has a wide range of optional extras to allow customers to tailor their policy to their individual needs. Both this policy option as well as the Premier option includes the following as standard:
If your home becomes uninhabitable due to an insured event, M&S home insurance will cover the cost of alternative accommodation until your home is habitable again.
If you need to locate and repair a leak in your home, M&S home insurance will cover the cost of accessing and repairing the leak.
M&S home insurance includes cover of up to £1,000 (including VAT) for emergency repairs to your home, such as a burst pipe or boiler breakdown.
Provides legal expenses cover of up to £50,000 for you (and members of your family who live with you) to pursue or defend legal disputes.
M&S’ Premier home insurance policy includes everything found in the standard policy option, as well as all additional optional extras, including the following:
Provides cover for a range of issues – from dropping your laptop to spiling coffee on a new white carpet. Aside from your contents being covered for all sorts of eventualities, your buildings will be covered for accidents such as hammering through the floorboards into a gas pipe while you’re doing DIY. Damage to fixture and fittings is also covered.
Wil cover the cost of repairs and replacement if your gates, fences, or hedges are damaged as a result of a storm.
If you haven’t made a claim on your home insurance for at least three years, you can use this optional extra to protect the no-claims discount on your policy.
The no-claims discount protections allows you to claim up to two times in a five year period without losing your no-claims discount or having your claim affect your premiums.
Provides cover for your children’s possessions while they are away at university or college and within their accommodation.
